This is more for players that have advanced through the story and ready to power up their characters even further.

Conditions To Unlock Hunt

To unlock hunt, you will need to have:

  • Complete all of Master of Wealth, Power, Fame and Epilogue Chapter in Rippletide (4th Town Unlocked)
  • Talk to NPC by the in Cragspear Town (5th) near the Inn

Hunts are a series of battles where you take on Elite enemies to gain good experience, acquire loot and get Guidestones. The Guidestones are the main draw of this mode as you can use specific character guidestones to increase the level caps of your characters. You get 1 free ticket for Hunts every day. You can buy up to 5 tickets every day with rubies.

The guidestones available are based on the characters you brought to battle. You will want to bring characters you want to increase their level cap on.

The guidestone rewards are the following upon completion:

  • 5★ Units – 5 Gold Guidestones
  • 4★ Units – 10 Silver Guidestones
  • 3★ Units – 20 Bronze Guidestones

Also, new characters or featured/re-run units get +10 flat bonus to guidestones. Also, to see who gets bonus guidestones, you will want to click on the bottom left corner to see who gets a bonus and bring those units accordingly.

Hunt Basics

Once you enter the hunt, you:

  • Cannot change their skills
  • Skill board is not accessible
  • Equipment of your characters cannot be changed
  • You only fight elite enemies and there are no normal monsters
  • Defeating the final elite boss on the map ends the hunt
  • Will want to kill as many other monsters before taking on the final elite boss
  • There is a HP/SP restore fountain near the final elite boss
  • Any elite monster guarding a treasure chest is not the final elite boss

It is recommended to clear the entire map before taking on the elite boss to get the most rewards possible, unless you risk dying, then you can fight the boss earlier.

Hunt Rewards

Here are the juicy rewards you can potentially get after defeating the final elite boss:

  • Common single stat accessories
  • Rare elemental resist accessories
  • Common Bronze sacred seals
  • Rare Silver sacred seals (comes in 8 varieties)
  • Extremely Rare Gold sacred seals (comes in 8 varieties)

Every hunt is associated with the 3 influences (Wealth, Power and Fame). The rewards you get at the end is based on the sum of total influence of that type. So you want to bring same influence unit that the hunt requires.

  • Less than 300 Influence Points = 1 Reward
  • Between 300-450 Influence Points = 2 Rewards
  • More than 450 Influence Points = 3 Rewards

Also, higher level hunts give better experience and more medium/large experience nuts. However, the influence points should be the highest priority over everything else. The potential to get more Gold sacred seals is far more valuable than extra experience or leveling your characters that have not yet hit max level cap. As long as you can get over 450+ influence points, you can start optimizing for higher level hunts.

Also, the recommend jobs to bring to the hunt will indicate the Silver and Gold sacred seals that drop in that hunt. In this case, the Warrior, Apothecary, Scholar and Dancer ones will be featured in this hunt.

Easy Hunt

This is a function unlocked after you have finished that hunt for the first time. This allows you to skip the dungeon for easy experience and rewards. The good thing about this is that you can stack up influence to level up your weaker characters and always hit the 3 reward chest every hunt. However, you will lose out on some reward achievements by using this method. I think this is a very good trade off, granted how rare gold seals are.

Class Up

So a lot of players including myself have pulled man 3.5 and 4.5 stars. What that means is that the characters come at 1 rarity lower than their actual rarity, which means their final skill board is locked until it ranks up to his final rarity.

Once you class up a 3.5 star or 4.5 star to 4 and 5 stars respectively, their final skill board will be unlocked and your character’s full potential is realised.

If you pull in the gacha, you can also class up by pulling the same version of the unit, but at its final rarity. For example, if you first pulled a 4 star Gilderoy and later on pulled a 5 star Gilderoy, the latest one will replace the first one and you unlock the final skill board. However, if you pull another 4 star Gilderoy instead of a 5 star, you will get the guidestones of Gilderoy but not get the class up.

Other than that, you will need the sacred seals of the character to get them to their final rarity. Here are the requirements to class up:

3.5★ to 4★

  • 1 Silver sacred seal of the right class
  • 2 Bronze sacred seals
  • 10 Bronze seals

4.5★ to 5★

  • 1 Gold sacred seal of the right class
  • 10 Bronze sacred seals
  • 50 Bronze seals

To finally class up your unit, you want to go to the skill board and click on the final skill board. It will prompt you to unlock your skill board. The level cap will increase by 20 after.

It is also not recommended to use the exchange to get sacred seals of guidestones as the hunts provide plenty. Only use them if you are really itching to quickly class up that specific unit.

Octopath Traveler: Cotc Dailies and Weeklies Guide https://gachax.com/octopath-traveler-cotc/dailies-and-weeklies-guide/ https://gachax.com/octopath-traveler-cotc/dailies-and-weeklies-guide/#respond Thu, 04 Aug 2022 14:03:49 +0000 https://gachax.com/octopus-traveler-cotc/?p=372 Welcome to the dailies and weeklies guide for Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent! In this simple tutorial, we will go over the necessary actions you need to do on a consistent basis to get the most out of the game, especially as a F2P player.

Daily Tasks

In order to get 5 rubies daily, you need to complete all 9 tasks for the day. This includes:

1 – Win 3 and 5 Battles (+20 Bronze Guidestone Shard)

This one is straightforward. Any normal encounter will do, including the daily 3 battles with Crafty Cait (requires you to watch 30 second ad videos and battle after).

2 – Defeat Enemy x5 and x10 (+20 Bronze Guidestone Shard)

By battling, you will also complete this task.

3 – Sell 5 and 10 Materials (+20 Bronze Guidestone Shard)

This one is simple. You just have to kill normal encounter enemies as they drop materials and head over to any weapon shop to sell them.

This will complete this task.

4 – Win 1 Elite Enemy Battle (+20 Bronze Guidestone Shard)

For this one you want to fight any elite enemy that “screams” when you get close to them in any open field area. There are 3 difficulty levels:

  • Blue – Easy elite boss
  • Red – Medium difficulty elite boss
  • Gold – Hard elite boss

I have gotten my butt handed to me for tackling gold ones. So stick to blue elite enemies for an easier time. Pick the ones a few levels below you and you should be okay.

5 – Complete 1 Path Action (+10 Bronze Guidestone Shard)

This one requires to use your Wealth, Power or Fame skills to talk to NPCs in town. You need to do either 1 battle, buy items or successfully “steal” an item for this to count. The higher your Wealth/Power/Fame level is, the easier this becomes. Early on, you want to be buying good equipment and accessory for your units anyways, so this will be very easy to do.

6 – Complete Hunt 1 Time (+30 Bronze Guidestone Shards)

Once hunt is unlocked, this will also be part of the daily tasks. Using the easy-hunt feature will make this one super easy to get.

7 – Use Exchange 1 Time (+10 Bronze Guidestone Shard)

To do this, you want to head over and click the menu button. Click on exchange and find an item you want to get. I usually like to get cheap items under the “other” section such as weapons and armor I need to progress in story mode.

The other option is to exchange Bronze Guidestones for Silver or Gold ones if you need them for awakening.

Upon completing all the above tasks, you will finish all daily quests and receive:

  • 20 Memory Shards
  • 130 Bronze Guidestone Shards
  • 5 Rubies

Weekly Quests

The weekly quests is basically just a combination of tasks you did daily.

  • Complete 4 Weekly Tasks (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Complete 8 Weekly Tasks (10 Gold Guidestone Shards)
  • Complete 12 Weekly Tasks (20 Rubies)
  • Sell 20 Materials (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Sell 30 Materials (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Sell 40 Materials (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Sell 50 Materials (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Win 15 Battles (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Win 25 Battles (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Win 50 Battles (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Defeat 25 Enemies (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Defeat 50 Enemies (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Win 3 Elite Enemy Battles (10 Gold Guidestone Shards)
  • Win 5 Elite Enemy Battles (10 Gold Guidestone Shards)
  • Win 10 Elite Enemy Battles (10 Gold Guidestone Shards)
  • Complete 5 Hunts (10 Gold Guidestone Shards)
  • Successfully Complete 3 Path Actions (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Successfully Complete 5 Path Actions (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Successfully Complete 10 Path Actions (10 Silver Guidestone Shards)
  • Complete 30 Daily Tasks (10 Rubies)

If you complete all of them weekly, you would get:

  • 50 Gold Guidestone Shards
  • 120 Silver Guidestone Shards
  • 30 Rubies

So your monthly ruby income would be 270 rubies per month, which is 9 pulls. Not too shabby, considering the game has plenty of other quests you can do to get extra rubies, such as doing the side quests for each individual character you have.

You can use the guidestone shards to exchange for various good accessories or items that you can use to power up your characters.
