Arknights
In this game you control operators where you have to defend against the enemies. You are in charge of the activities of an organization called Rhode Islands.
You have access to a wide variety of operators, each with unique skills and talents to help you defend and it is up to you to strategize and come up with a good team to make that happen. The artwork has an Anime style and the battles are quite fun.
The global version is currently in closed beta test and will be released globally sometime in 2020. Can’t wait for that!
Warhammer Odyssey
The main reason I am excited for this game is the developers have a strong emphasis on no auto combat and no auto questing. So basically we actually have to play the game. 😀
The PvE content will most likely be challenging. The game it takes place in the old world of Warhammer Fantasy, allowing us to explore iconic locations and experience its dark fantasy. We haven’t gotten a good gameplay trailer for the game just yet so I am quite excited to see more when we are given more details.
Rise of Awakened Project E
An action style 3D RPG that has cool graphics and gameplay looks good. The game is set in a parallel world in a real city in the 1970s. The battles are the classic side-scrolling with well designed stages with real time PvP as well.
Unfortunately, they had a closed beta in August 2019 and have yet to announce anything globally, so we will have to wait and see.
Genshin Impact
This game looks amazing it has a striking anime aesthetic that definitely has some major influences from games like Zelda: Breath of the Wild. To be honest that game is fantastic so that’s a plus for this game. The company working on the game is bringing their knowledge of action combat and combining it with a vibrant massive world.
They recently had a close beta and look to be released early 2020!
Marvel Super War
Combine the massive Marvel Comics universe with the action-packed gameplay of a MOBA and then stick it directly on your phones is basically what it is. The game still looks rough around the edges. If they can polish that, the potential for a breakout mobile game is definitely there.
The only concern I really have for the game is the lack of interest in new mobile MOBAs since there is so many out there, including upcoming Wild Rift by LoL and others already in the market like AoV, Mobile Legends, Onymyoji etc.
Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross
Now this game truly captures the anime and its world in a massive mobile game which you can’t really say that about a lot of other games. Unlike a lot of other anime hero collector mobile games, this one doesn’t really cut any corners by using 2D chibi models. They use full 3D character models that have amazing animations and great skill design.
Keep in mind that the game has a large variety of cosmetics options for your characters to collect and a fairly unique card combat system as well. There is no release date yet as of this writing so we will keep our fingers crossed.
FFBE: War of the Visions
This new hero collector and it is taking same gameplay elements of games like Final Fantasy Tactics and Alchemist Code but making it better in graphics. I have seen people say this is just a reskin version of Alchemist Code. Alchemist Code is a great game and I think this is going to be an amazing game.
This game is developed by Square Enix and published by Gumi. The game is set to release late 2019 but seems like we will not get the global English version perhaps until late 2020. There will be live PvP in this game, so it might be fun for competitive gamers!
Diablo Immortal
Before you run down to the comments and start calling out the major problems behind the development and the announcement of the game, I am totally aware of its history now besides the major negativity that surrounded the game.
I wanted to include the game on the list due to it being blizzards first foray into the mobile gaming genre and a chance for the Diablo franchise to shine on mobile now. The gameplay looks great and I think we should all give it a chance before calling for the chops.
Shining Beyond
If you look at the gameplay, it is very different. It is not a 2D game again with auto and turn base, but this one is an action RPG which you can control where your party wants to go. Artwork looks great and the battle scenes are fun.
It is set to be released in 2020 for both iOS and Android so keep an eye on this one.
League: Wild Rift
Basically it is League of Legends but on the mobile phone plus a couple bells and whistles to make it a little bit more fluid. I want to talk about this is because League of Legends is one of the most popular game in the world and the most celebrated one in the eSports category.
That means it is a great way to bring potential mobile eSports in the future. Arena of Valor and Mobile Legends might be sweating when it finally gets released, which I hope will be in 2020.
